"Germania" colony of Ellinwood

Part of a railroad poster encouraging immigrants to Kansas.

"Kolonie 'Germania'" is one section of text of a promotional poster encouraging German-speaking people to immigrate to Kansas and secure homesteads. It describes plans for a colony, or organized community for Germans in the Ellinwood area in western Kansas. This is section 10C of the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway poster titled "Die Beste Gelegenheit im Westen."
