C. A. Petersen, settler in the Colony "Germania" of Ellinwood

Part of a railroad poster encouraging immigrants to Kansas.

"Herr C. A. Petersen aus Boston, Mass" is one section of text of a promotional poster encouraging German-speaking people to immigrate to Kansas and secure homesteads. It is a letter that serves as a testimonial about advantages of farming in Kansas, where Petersen settled in a German colony at Ellinwood. This is section 9B of the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway poster titled "Die Beste Gelegenheit im Westen."
