Grocer on Massachusetts.

Justus Assmann is one of 34 members of the Lawrence Turnverein pictured in composite photographs of 1881.

He was of German heritage and one of several merchants to set up shop early on Massachusetts Street. Sometime prior to 1865 he established a grocery business at what was then known as 189 Massachusetts.

His picture is 4G in the composite.
