Helped establish the English Lutheran Church at Stoney Point.

Catherine Kistler Eberhart was the wife of Joseph Eberhart. She was born January 4, 1805. They were married November 15, 1821 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Catherine and Joseph were members of the Luteran Church before their marriage and had been schoolmates while children. Their children included four boys, Henry, Paul, Louis, and Andrew and a girl, Sarah A..

Their first home in Douglas County near Pleasant Grove was used for the first church services in the county. They were instrumental in building the English Lutheran Church at Stony Point, near Vinland, which was dedicated in 1873. Both Mr. and Mrs. Eberhart died within a few days of each other in late 1882 and were buried in Stony Point Cemetery.
