Purpose:

To help you familiarize yourself with the location of various cities and exciting tourist attractions in Kansas. The trip will also be a review of Kansas geography.

• Plan a 2 week trip through Kansas. This may be done with a partner or in a group of three, maximum.
• You may use any means of transportation you wish. (cycle, horseback, private jet, hot-air balloon, etc.)
• You may wish to plan your trip around a "theme"--(Towns of famous Kansans, golf courses, state parks, etc.)

Hand in:

• Daily journal explaining where you went, what you saw and did, and a description of the area’s geographical features. Each entry should be a minimum of 1/2 page, if hand written, and 1/3 page, if typed.
• Map showing route of trip and any additional graphics or pictures you wish to include.

• Journal is written on postcards--one a day.
• Time machine travel--when visiting cities, experience past historical events instead of present sites.
• Be a travel agent--promote your trip with a brochure.
• Make a scrap book of your trip.

• Grade: Total = 100 points
  • Creativity - 20 points
  • Quality and completeness of journal - 50 points
  • Quality and completeness of map - 30 points
